Hey, champ! Thanks for checking out Telltale. This used to be a monthly curated storytelling event for people that like to get vulnerable and take no shit. We are into genuine connection, laughter, heartbreak, poignant moments, and community building. We, in theory, should be just kicking off our 4th season, but...things got real weird. So I can’t promise that Telltale is back, because the future feels pretty hard to predict or commit to. But we are at least going to have an August show. Yeah, it’s going to be on zoom and not in person. Yeah, it’s not the same. But it’s better than nothing. And I said I’d do the show until the government stopped making me angry all the time....and....you see my point.…
We recognize that now that we've moved our readings onto an online platform, we are now able to reach and are accessible to a much wider audience. Despite the reason of covid, it's exciting to us here at Grief Rites that we can reach more people. That we can grow our sacred Portland bubble. That we can amplify more voices. So to honor this, our August reading is being curated with all readers who are not Portland based. We are so very excited to welcome more of you to the Grief Rites community.

Stories have power. We believe the most important stories often come from the immigrant community. Despite the historic Supreme Court ruling in June protecting DACA recipients, some groups continue to challenge the rights of undocumented immigrants. Now is the time to listen to the stories of individuals who have grown up undocumented in the United States. In partnership with the City of Beaverton, The Immigrant Story presents “DREAMs Deferred Live,” a two day event featuring one night of soulful music and another night of moving storytelling by immigrants in our community. To kick off this week long celebration, we invite you to hear five compelling stories told — and lived — by members of our community who grew up with American values without feeling valued…
Got a story to tell? Come and join our Teen Library Story Slam hosted by the Hollywood and Belmont Teen Council. Our theme is "New Beginnings," and your story can be fiction or nonfiction. We will share our stories in small groups, and those that want to share to the larger group at the end, will have an opportunity. Stories shouldn't exceed five minutes.
