In June of 1949, a radio show that changed the nation premiered it’s first episode. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Fake Radio proudly recreates two episodes of the hit radio show "Dragnet"! Joining the cast is guest star John Pirruccello, acclaimed comic actor from the TV series Twin Peaks and Barry on HBO. This performance is ONE NIGHT ONLY, so get your tickets while you can! Lynne Stewart, star of PeeWee's Playhouse and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia joins the cast of Fake Radio for the third show of their 2019 season. In 1941, Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor lit up the screen with John Huston’s masterpiece, The Maltese Falcon. A private detective takes on a case that involves him with three eccentric criminals, a gorgeous liar, and their quest for a priceless statuette. The film won three Academy Award nominations and grossed nearly $1 million at the box office, a massive sum for its era. It cemented Humphrey Bogart as the biggest star of the decade, and remains to this day one of the best-known film noir classics. Fake Radio returns to The Vault to present a live recreation of Lux Radio Theater’s 1954 Broadcast of The Day The Earth Stood Still! An alien named Klaatu lands his spacecraft on Earth just after the end of World War II. He brings an important message to the planet that he wishes to share with representatives of all nations. However, because communication is difficult due to Cold War fears, Klaatu is forced to try an alternative approach: he disguises himself as a common human on Earth. Then, after finding help from a few unlikely Earthlings, Klaatu shocks the entire planet into finally listening to his important message about the future of humanity.
