Virtual IPRC / Lunch Poems: Beginnings

Inspired by Frank O’Hara’s Lunch Poems, and his  tendency to write while on lunch breaks, this workshop series is meant to provide creative diversion during your lunch hours. For the first series, we’ll be discussing and composing beginnings: how to begin, memorable first lines, and various procedures for getting into a poem. We’ll read poems and excerpts from Renee Gladman, Chelsey Minnis, Heather Christle, Matthew Rohrer, Natalie Diaz, Inger Christensen, Etel Adnan and others. This workshop is free, though registration is limited to 10 people. Meetings will take place via zoom. Register for the workshop here.
