In this dynamic workshop, students will use the vehicle of letterpress printing to explore personal connections to food and food traditions. We will learn the fundamentals of analog design and the importance of book arts in a digital age, then print our own designs incorporating pressroom materials – lead type, wood type and ornaments- with personal experiences. This workshop will include some short readings, regular group discussions, and creative lab time in a COVID-adapted letterpress print shop located in the Cully Neighborhood.
